Math/Science Partnership Conference
The MMSTLC partners are participating in the U.S. Department of Education’s “Math and Science Partnership Conference” to share ideas, findings, and strategies with other MSP programs from around the country. In addition to learning about new ideas and networking with colleagues, the MMSTLC is presenting a session about their project. Want to find out more? Babies!
Why were some people at our last workshops missing? They were busy having babies! Congratulations to all of our new mom’s in the MMSTLC family. We’re informed that Jodi Redman, of the Manistee-Wexford-Missaukee team, gave birth to twin boys. Nan Richards and Nicole Garcia, both of the Washtenaw -Livingston team, followed suit, giving birth to a girl and boy respectively on Dec. 7 and Dec. 15 respectively. Congratulations to all of your families. We wish you the best!
The Moodle Drawings, Round Two.
As mentioned at the December workshops, I held a drawing for prizes for those individuals posting to the forums on our site. The only requirement was that you post twice between Dec. 4 and Dec. 19, with an extra name in the hat, so to speak, if you post more than ten times. Only one person did that, and the added odds worked to her favor, as she won the grand prize this month of a $30 gift certificate for Amazon.com, and a copy of “A Short History of Nearly Everything” by Bill Bryson (an excellent history of science and mathematics). Our second and third prize winners (also getting a copy of the book – there was a sale, and $10 gift certificates each, were June Teisan and Yonee Kuiphoff. Congratulations to all, and happy holidays.
