MMSTLC NEWS & EVENTS

March is a busy month for conferences, and this year was no different for our leaders and participants. MMSTLC was well represented at a number of conferences and other professional events for mathematics and science teachers this year.

First, the MSTA (Michigan Science Teacher Association) annual conference provided several opportunities to learn about the project, and some of the specific topics or issues addressed in our science programs. Also, a number of our participants presented sessions on topics or strategies they have been focusing on in the past year. For more information, see the MSTA session page on our site.

Next, the MACUL (Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning) conference, held two weeks later in Detroit, showcased some of our knowledge and application of technology issues for education. Click here to see list of sessions and handouts.

Later that week, several participants and leaders headed to New Orleans for the NSTA (National Science Teacher Association) Convention, where our own Stephen Best presented an in-depth session on Web 2.0 tools for the science classroom. Finally, Judy Flowers and the University of Michigan – Dearborn hosted the Conversations Among Colleagues conference for mathematics education.
